Zion Griffin, Illinois Hottest Prospect!
After lighting up top EYBL program Howard Pulley for 42 points and 11 rebounds in front of 50+ college coaches, the stock of Hoopers 2018 Zion Griffin skyrocketed. Immediately following the Hardwood Classic in Kansas City, interest was shown by Oregon, Vanderbilt, Illinois, Iowa St., Pittsburg, Butler, Northwestern, Nebraska & Tulsa. Offers then came from Iowa St. & Missouri St.
Zion continued his great play the next weekend at the Sunflower Showcase and Summer Slam back in Kansas City. He went for 36 points vs Southern Stampede EYBL, 29 points vs MOKAN EYBL & 35 points vs Oklahoma PWP UAA in front of Kansas head coach Bill Self who later called Zion to begin the recruiting process. Head coach Brad Underwood and Illinois soon followed with a scholarship offer.
